Fazil Mirani (KDP) and Mala Bahktyar (PUK) meet with Gorran leaders, including Nawshirwan Mustafa

A delegation from the two ruling parties, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Kurdistan Democrstic Party (KDP), has visited the headquarters of the Gorran movement. The main purpose for this visit was to ask the opposition party to agree to a delay to the Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections (due to be held before the end of July) and an extension to the presidential term of Masud Barzani.

This time the ruling parties are using the pretext that they are more preoccupied with external issues, with Baghdad and neighbouring countries, than with the internal ones.

The delegation comprised two high-profile leaders, members of the politburos and inner circles of their parties: Fazil Mirani (KDP) and Mala Bahktyar (PUK).

Nawshirwan Mustafa, the leader of the Goran movement, told them that, “The decision for that kind of process has to be put forward to the members of our movement”.

Considering the dramatic situation of Iraq and Kurdistan relations, the sicknes of J Talibani or his succesion, all this can have a negative impact in case too many changes happens simultaneously. It is just common sense from PUK and KDP to involve Gorran in this strategic/tactical positioning

    An announcement by KIM:

Today on 4/8/2013, Ekurd.net ran an article on behalf of KIM without verifying the authenticity of source in a vain effort to damage our reputation. The article does not reflect our views and we totally refute it.

Those who try to stop us from our legitimate Independence right and are dead wrong. We have been offered bribe, forced, and threatened on numerous occasions before, as well, but never gave up and will never do so. The possibility is that it could be by a KDP sympathizer or US government agency.
KIM has earlier written to the US Gov warning them that a large number of their citizens are directly involved in corruption; therefore, they might be trying to retaliate or possibly reached an agreement with the corrupt KRG to suppress our dissident voice.

Anything written, published or spoken on behalf of KIM must be verified in person from KIM spokesman in USA Mr. Baqi Barzani.

”The article does not reflect our views and we totally refute it”

This is sad and disappointing because the original article makes alot of sense … the article said : same faces Ashti , foud , falah and qubad are in Washinton to buy a second term for masoud with a cheque of one billion dollar . This is very plausible as kurdish people wealth is in the hand of these thieves who are puppets for the americans !

KIM is a KDP organisation .

It’s common sense for foreigners with their financial interest in Kurdistan to have the current status quo to remain because a sudden change will threaten their position of power and money profit. International capitalistic hypocrisy has been demonstrated all over the world and Kurdistan won’t be an exception. Support freedom and democracy only when it benefits you, that’s the motto of western powers. If elections happen and someone takes over that USA, Israel, or nearby powers don’t like, they will give the green light to KDP and PUK to crush then under claims of instability and terrorism. It is now up to the people of Kurdistan to stand up for their own rights and enough of stupidity and believing outsiders. Too bad we will have to deal with Barzani for 8 more years and you can take that to the bank and book it.
