Together with members of the Kurdish community we have invited to this year’s ceremony the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, a local Member of Parliament, Councillors, friends and members of organisations such as the Red Cross and Amnesty International.
We have a Memorial Tree in a public garden just off the seafront where we gather and the ceremony will include a number of invited speakers as well as a time of laying flowers (provided by us) around the tree as a sign of support for all those who suffered under the Iraqi Regime.
