ISIS terrorists are attacking Rojava Kurds (pic BBC)
The YPG (People’s Protection Units) has called on all Kurds and Kurdish political parties in south and north Kurdistan to support the resistance of Kurds in West Kurdistan/Rojava against jihadist forces of ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) which are attacking the Kobanê region.
Their call has been echoed by PKK leader Murat Qaraylan who urged Kurdish youths in South and North Kurdistan to support their fellow Kurds in Syria. Karaylan also condemned the Syrian opposition groups and Western powers for not helping the YPG fight terrorist groups. He warned the West of the danger they pose to Syria and also stated that Kurds can never marginalized in the Middle East again.
ANF reports on a YPG General Command statement: “Our units are in position and will maintain their heroic resistance against the enemies of the people, despite their limited resources.”
:”Our appeal is to all the parties of Kurdistan,” it continued, “first and foremost the Presidency of the South Kurdistan Region, the KCK executive, the Kurdistan Democrat Party (KDP), Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) and the Gorran Movement, to fulfil their national duty. We believe that Rojava will succeed and that this will be the success of all the people of Kurdistan.”
The YPG said the objective of the attacks is to seize control of the Rimelan oil fields, force the evacuation of Kurdish villages near the border with Turkey and sever links between the recently-established cantons of West Kurdistan.
