KRG criticize Malki’s statements

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has criticized the Iraqi Prime Minister for his statements about Muhammed Bdewi’s killing. Imad Aahmed, KRG Deputy Prime Minister stated that PM Malki’s statements have caused serious concerns about the risk of increased sectarian violence. On March 21, an Iraqi scholar, Muhammed Bdewi, was shot dead ‘accidently’ by a Kurdish officer of the Iraqi Presidential Guard in Baghdad. PM Malki has reacted by threatening “revenge.” The officer has been arrested by an Iraqi SWAT team and is being held in custody. Kurdish officials criticized Malki for using the incident for political purposes. (KT)
