The leader of PJAK (Party of Free Life of Kurdistan), the east Kurdistan movement with links to the PKK, has warned that the new Iranian president Rohani is taking advantage of recent diplomatic openings with the West to increase pressure on minorities, including Kurds.

Abdul Rahman Haji-Ahmadi, the Germany-based leader of PJAK told Reuters that Rouhani “belongs completely to the core system” of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and that his role is to help the theocratic regime escape political deadlock.

“Obviously he has played very well so far, managing to escape from some crises as well as deceiving some of the Iranian peoples,” said Haji-Ahmadi.

“The Americans and the Europeans are being optimistic, but no internal changes have been made… Pressure on the people and the rate of executions have markedly increased,” he said referring to recent mass executions of dissidents, including Baluchis and two Kurds.

Rohani has released some political prisoners since he became president in June, but no non-Persians.

Since 2011 there has been a ceasefire between PJAK guerrillas and the Islamic Republic. However, Haji-Ahmadi said he believed Iran was “gearing up for another offensive against PJAK to retest its military might.”

Secret talks have been going on between Iran,Turkey recently over the future of Kurds in all four parts of kurdistan especially about kurdistan of Iraq. They think that the Iraqi kurdistan has gotten out of the control of the Iraqi central government by making unilateral decision over business contracts of oil resources and also has been exercising unconstitutional rights .They also see the Iraqi kurdistan as economically growing and becoming as a source of assistance ,and encouragement and yet a source of tension ,instigation for the rest of the Kurdish population to demand and exercise same rights in Turkey ,Iran ,and Syria.Iran ,Iraq and Turkey perceive all this against their interests and a threat to their integrity and obviously so does Syria.

What they want to do is ,to limit the power Iraqi kurdistan by taking more control over the decisions and moves of the KRG and the economic growth and development of kurdistan. They want to limit bussiness and private incomes of the KRG and make them depend on annual budget money from central government which become a mean to have better control over the decisions and moves of Kurdish leadership in all four parts and hence deny them federalism, not to mention independence.
