The US State Department has branded the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) as the deadliest terrorist organisation in Europe, arguing that it continued its violent campaign throughout the year in 2012, according to Today’s Zaman.

We would like to ask the US State Department: What did the giant nation of the USA do in response to 9/11, when more than 3000 Americans were cruelly murdered by the terrorists of Al-Qaida?

Surely America could not restrain itself, it retaliated and thousands have died in consequence?

Surely the Kurds in the north of Kurdistan have the right to defend themselves from the aggression of the Turkish state?

We all deeply hope that the current peace process will prove genuine and achieve lasting peace in the north of Kurdistan.

Our generations of Kurds will be proud for another 100 years that we never killed anyone in Europe, murdered defenceless women in Paris, hijacked aeroplanes to kill civilians or butchered a soldier on the streets of London.

The PKK is not terrorist. We are not terrorists.
