Rising crime in Erbil

News from KT:

Gorran MP  Nariman Abdulla has made a speech to parliament about rising crime in Erbil, capital of the Kurdistan Region.

He told MPs he thought the recent establishment of a National Security Council should lead to more arrests of criminals and mafia-type groups that are operating in the Erbil area, abducting people and stealing money.

Recently Erbil has become a hotbed for international investors, akin to Dubai. In the last four weeks, according to Abdulla, several major crimes have been reported in the capital but without any arrests.
