Three leaders of the Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) in Turkey are in Cape Town this week and will speak at a Symposium organised by the Kurdish Human Rights Action Group South Africa (KHRAG). The symposium is titled “The Kurdish Question – Current situation in Turkey”.
It will take place at the Imam Haron Hall, at Community House, Salt River Road, Salt River, from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, 29 August 2012.
The political representatives will deal with a range of matters relating to the Kurdish question in Turkey and the Middle East. One-on-one interviews can be arranged for the media.
Below are profiles of the visiting leaders and an open letter that KHRAG sent to Hillary Clinton when she visited Cape Town two weeks ago.
The delegation will visit Anglican Archbishop Thabo Magoba at Bishop’s Court on Wednesday morning and there will be opportunities for photos and brief questions when the meeting concludes at 11.30pm.
