How important is our value system (Part 3)?

By Dr Fereydun Rafiq Hilmi:

6. Peace, non-interference, right of nations to resist invasions: values we cherished and now breach on a daily basis

For the past century at least the world has been presented with a double-image of Britain: of a country with a well-established democratic system, clean and above-board judicial system, a parliament which smelt of roses and a highly civilized and polite population using diplomatic and polite language; and on the other hand an international image of a cruel and greedy empire covering most of the world with armies and military units engaging in looting and strafing weak but resource-rich nations. This contradictory character, from the point of view of those at the receiving end of British international behaviour, was justified by claiming that the British Armies overseas were there to civilize wild and savage nations and help them develop and become educated – and therefore the value system was completely consistent.

Any criticism of British involvement in the new colonial wars renamed the ‘war on terror’ can easily place you in the circle of traitors. This unwritten law is nevertheless part of our value system and so, in a country boasting the most democratic and free society, one is wary of telling the truth about the evil of war and aggression against other nations, even if that war is against a citizen’s original nation where he may have siblings or family.

Someone like Obama, for example, would have to send the bombers and even use nuclear bombs against Kenya (the land of his forefathers), should the powers that be demand it for any reason whatsoever –  and be happy and triumphant about it too. Thus if Australia became powerful and aggressive enough to attack Britain, all the Australian population of British origin should applaud this and encourage their forces to use more fire power and killing machines against us. This to my mind is not acceptable to the average British person and therefore there is a great double-standards system of values in place. Faced with the natural reaction of immigrants of third world states being continuously attacked by the west, the British government, rather than dealing with these acts in a fair manner, starts accusing all those aggrieved citizens who wish to be good citizens and do their duty to the country that has given them shelter (mainly as a result of such actions and or to prop up dictators in their original countries), and treats them as enemies and undesirables.

7. Always use ‘one of their own’ to do the dirty work

Mubarak, Al-Maliki, the Kings and Emirs are ideal to keep the sheep in check unless you think the sheep are about to savage the shepherd, in which case you move in and slaughter the latter for dinner, replacing him with a younger model. This way we can squash our glorious principles without getting a drop of blood on ourselves.

We find also that, ever since the start of Obama’s reign, we have been seeing an intense interest in the African states. The whole of North Africa as well as other African states have been in turmoil with more than a timid indulgence in stoking the fires there. How acceptable would this have been, to the African American small but powerful minority, if a white American president was driving his claws into the African flesh? Is it just irony or the design of the American president-makers in the USA? We have had a third rate actor who played rough and mindless cowboys on the screen – playing dangerous world politics and fighting unequal small nations, as well as nearly starting a third world war, followed by incompetent fools acting as messiahs and prophets of doom, claiming to have direct lines to God and authorization for murder and destruction. Now we have a black African American who was elected on a completely false set of promises while continuing the same policies of the previous maniac: which is why  I predict that the next president will be a woman, and soon we will have a gay or possibly a lesbian,  just to propagate the lie that the people are being represented.

8. Sudden changes of values occur in times of turmoil

Hitler and his lieutenants engaged in the manufacture of new values based mainly on ultra-fascistic considerations of their own arrogant regard for their breed and race. They proved that if you repeated any idea continuously you can get it accepted by the masses no matter how ridiculous it may be. After a while the conditioned reflex of the people would be to accept anything as proof. As an example I would give the following. Supposing we tell people repeatedly for the next month that an angel would appear in the sky as a bright star at around 10 pm any day during the next few days. Then we project an image of a star using a laser at around 10 pm in 2 days time. How many people would doubt that it is the angel? Magicians often fool thousands using such tactics and of course we know how Hollywood can keep us glued to a screen showing a science fiction film supposedly going on between the galaxies. The system and its politicians have at their disposal our funds, armies, police and a media capable of twisting human thinking and deluding our children and the older generation in any way they like.

9. A virtual value system

The latest techniques include a virtual value system where the headlines are kept while the values themselves are made dynamic and changed to suit each condition. All the well-known and established values can be changed and used to justify any action. Concepts of terrorism and resistance to occupation or struggle for liberation of one’s country may be switched and people confused and none the wiser. In this way we would be talking normally but in fact meaning the complete opposite of what we say.

This method has been used very successfully since the Vietnam War to pacify the public and get them to ignore and perhaps even support what is going on. A direct example of this loose and dynamic value system can be seen in the way that the hate system directed against Communism for more than fifty years was re-directed to target Islam and the Muslim and Arab nations. Do you remember ‘the red under the bed’? Well, now it is the Muslim under the Hijab or turban or with long beard; communism was changed to Islam and the communist threat of invasion is now the threat of Islamic invasion and so on.

10. All parliaments are no more than theatres to con the electorate

Just watch the daily theatre of the story of ‘poor’ Murdoch, and consider how he rose to the skies and is now in free-fall back to earth. Everything this man has stood for was revered by the same people who now consider his deeds foul and abhorrent. Taxpayers money is once again being wasted dealing with this relatively normal behavior of a press tyrant exhibiting all the characteristics and values that makes up the western system. This is a man who, we are now told, wielded supreme power. The question we must ask is: how in a democracy can such a tyrant  emerge? The answer is that representative democracy is the maker of such characters and it thrives on a gang culture.

By contrast we find that the ordinary individual is nothing but a small pin in the system,  used to prop up the system. He dare not have a dispute of any sort, even if he is right, with any commercial or financial concern in case his name is placed on a blacklist they call credit status and that would mean that the individual will be deprived of a whole range of financial services. The entire system today is riddled with such blacklists, some depriving people of jobs and livelihood because of political views or breaches of the value system. The global system has now globalised these lists, making it impossible for anyone unlucky enough to have his name listed to progress in his or her life.

11. The citizen is no match for the power blocs and rich groups

On the other hand we have certain groups, elitist gangs, parties and secret organizations which will open all the doors for their members to help make life easy, prosperous and full of success, often quite undeservedly. Favoritism, nepotism, bribery and backhanders are also endemic in the west today.

We have known for a long time that the media is linked to the political system and in bed with the police and intelligence organizations, but now we are now certain of it as a result of the recent revelations about the police top brass. One such senior police officer justified taking a £12,000 bribe by saying he was under the weather and needed some extra cash for personal relief. The mealy-mouthed news presenters and commentators are feverishly appearing and disappearing on TV screens, each showing how clean and morality-driven they are and forgetting all the more urgent matters of the wretched people who elected this and previous governments. Once again it is a great opportunity for the parties to slag each other and call each other liars, dishonest, corrupt and incompetent. I believe they are all absolutely right! And, consequently. I call for a complete switch to real-time direct online democracy, sweeping them all into the dustbin of history.

To be continued.
