Turkish warplanes bomb south Kurdistan

News and Comment by The Kurdistan Tribune:

Turkish warplanes have started bombing the outskirts of Dhok, inside the territory of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

The bombardment follows the PKK’s latest attack on Turkish state forces.

This is happening despite the good relationship between the KRG and the Turkish government that has developed over the last ten years.

Observers are waiting for an assessment of the damage and of any casualties caused by this attack on the south of Kurdistan.

As we have said previously, this is part of a futile war waged by the Turkish state. The attacks over the last two years have not defeated the PKK – on the contrary they will come out of this stronger and more resolute.
