Turkish foreign minister goes to Kirkuk

News and Comment from KT:

Ahmed Davutoglu, Turkish foreign minister

Following his meeting with Kurdistan President Barzani in Erbil, the Turkish foreign minister, Ahmed Davutoglu, has today arrived in Kirkuk city. Najmadin Karim, the governor of Kirkuk, has facilitated his visit.

Observers are concluding that today’s trip is mainly designed to irritate the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). It is seen as a response to KRG backing for Syrian Kurds – including the PKK-aligned PYD – who currently control the bulk of West Kurdistan.

Otherwise why is he not also visiting Dhok or Sulaymani?
