Following the visit of Masud Barzani to the Gorran leader in Sulaymani (placing Nawshirwan Mustafa in the equation for achieving political stability in south Kurdistan), according to reliable sources close to the PUK leadership, PUK leader Jalal Talabani sent a delegation to Nawshirwan Mustafa asking him for reconciliation and an agreement.
This comes as the PUK continues to lose ground within its electoral base, especially in the Sulaymani area.
According to the source, Nawshirwan Mustafa told the emissary that, “Talabani should reconcile with the People, not with Gorran”. He also told the emissary that, “We do not have any personal issue with Talabani”.
