PKK captures six Turkish intelligence officers

News and Comment by The Kurdistan Tribune:

PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) forces have announced the capture of six Turkish intelligence officers working with the Turkish army, during fighting in Shirnak District, on the border of Iraq and Turkey. The PKK has given the names and ranks of the six and stated that they had played a role in ambushing 15 female PKK fighters two months ago.

The PKK armed council also declared that, since it opened a new front, 30 Turkish soldiers have been killed and injured this weekend. These setbacks for the Turkish state come while the army and its security apparatus are intent on suppressing the PKK once and for all.

We believe the only solution to the conflict in the north of Kurdistan is for the two sides to sit down at the negotiating table and take advantage of the strategy set out by jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan in his Road Map to Negotiations.
