Latest blasts in Iraq further prove Maliki’s incompetence‏

News and Comment by The Kurdistan Tribune:

Towns and cities across Iraq were rocked today by at least 16 explosions which killed at least 43 people and wounded more than 200. These murderous attacks, taking place on the ninth anniversary of the beginning of the US-led invasion and a week before Iraq is due to host the Arab League summit, are further evidence of the Maliki government’s incompetence.

Today’s blasts are part of an effort by insurgents to show that the government cannot keep the country safe ahead of the summit. After several years in power Maliki has proven incapable of restoring the shattered Iraqi state.

Observers have commented that the focus of the Nouri al-Maliki government has always been on attacking political rivals rather than on designing an effective strategy for a new Iraq and for a post-Saddam generation yearning for security and stability.

Maliki and his government are addicted to power for its own sake and they are doing the bidding of their Iranian puppeteers and paymasters. These are the reasons for their conflict with the Sunni Alawi coalition on the one hand and the KDP and Barzani leadership on the other.

It further ascertains KRG’ incompetence for failing to provide and extend security to Kurdish citizens, especially in disputed areas.

KRG holds no strategy for Kirkuk. It is merely hinging on equivocal promises by coalition forces and a rickety constitution.

    A total misuse of time.
