Speaking in Paris today, following the brutal executions of three Kurdish female activists, the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) co-chair Gültan Kışanak declared: “We promise, the Kurdish women and people will be free. Nobody is strong enough to kill them.”

She told reporters that the murders on Wednesday night were directed at PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and added; “The AKP (Turkish) government and the French state will remain the first suspects until the truth of what happened is revealed.”

Her BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş said: “There is no need for conspiracy theories, these killings were planned by those who aim to supress Kurdistan and Kurds and to force them on their knees”.

“If the French government doesn’t want to be a party to these killings, it has to carry out a thorough investigation into this execution. We want to believe in the sincerity of the French government but nobody can tell or convince us that the executions were carried out outside the knowledge of French intelligence service”.

Demirtaş also said that the French intelligence service has been sharing the information on Kurdish families living in the suburbs with the Turkish intelligence service.

In a statement the PKK has blamed the Turkish ‘deep state’ and international intelligence agencies.

“The perpetrators of this brutal murder, which was professionally planned by international powers and the Turkish gladio, will never reach their vicious goals”, said the PKK.

“Our three comrades, three honorable members of our free women’s movement, were deliberately chosen as a target. The Kurdish women movement of our party will never forget this bloody killing. These killings and provocations will never be able to suppress our freedom movement or our people”.

The statement dismissed talk of a PKK feud. “The statements and insults by the AKP authorities obviously aim to cover up the perpetrators of this brutal execution and to mislead the public opinion”, it said.

“It is not possible for this bloody attack to be carried out in a central place like this without the support of international intelligence services and states”.
