‘PUK interferes in Kawa Germyani’s court case’

The PUK has been accused of interfering in the Kawa Germyani murder case. The murderer of the anti-corruption journalist had already made a confession but now he has allegedly been instructed to say that he did not do it. Apparently the judge who is investigating the case gave these instructions to the murderer so that he could be freed from prison. Kawa’s brother, Karwan Ahmed, has issued a statement refusing to accept the current judge and calling for his replacement. Karwan also asked people to join him in a protest in front of Kalar court on 6th April.

PUK: Talabani will come back in two weeks

PUK leaders have announced that Jalal Talabani, President of Iraq and the PUK Sectary General, will be back to Kurdistan in two weeks. Adnan Mufti, PUK politburo member, said that the President’s physicians have determined that Talabani’s health condition has improved to a great extent. Mufti told the press that the return of Talabani to Kurdistan will be the best news ever for PUK supporters. President Talabani has had a critical health condition since December 2012. Some analysts believe the return of Talabani will have a great impact on the election results and overall political situation in Iraq.

Food distribution for the election campaign

The election campaign in Iraq has started. The political parties started their campaign in different ways. State of Law, Premier Malik’s list, started by distributing food among poor families, telling them this is a gift from the Prime Minister and giving them a poster of the party candidates.

Barzani: KRG Cabinet to be formed before May

Nawshirwan Mustafa, general coordinator of the Gorran Movement, and Masoud Barzani, the KDP’s President, have started their election campaigns at separate events. Nawshirwan Mustafa stated that the result of this election is decisive for Kurdistan. He said that the changes will be determined in Erbil. He criticized the PUK and KDP for complicating Erbil-Baghdad relations over oil revenue rather than challenging central government over land and disputed areas. Masoud Barzani urged people to participate in the election and never be disappointed. Barzani promised KDP supporters that a new Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) cabinet will be formed before the voting day on April 30, 2014.
