News from The Kurdistan Tribune:
Two KRG officials are today meeting the Gorran leadership to try and persuade the party to participate in the new cabinet. This follows a visit by the newly-appointed prime minster of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Nichrvan Barzani, and his deputy, Emmad Ahmed, to the Gorran Party headquarters.
Our sources close to the leadership of Gorran have confirmed that Gorran’s position has not changed and that they want to stay in opposition and monitor the performance of the new government.
Furthermore, Gorran’s spokesman yesterday criticised the President of the Kurdistan Reform committee.
In a statement he said: “We think the situation is aggravated further because they (the committee) have not been set up independently”.
