Gorran Block gives warning to Kurdistan parliament leader‏

News from The Kurdistan Tribune:

The Gorran block in the Kurdistan parliament has warned  Kamal Kirkuky, the leader of the parliament, that Gorran might boycott the local council elections, due to be held on 12 September, if he ignores its demands.

In their letter dated 1 Feb 2012, the Gorran Block told Kirkuky that: “ It is paramount for us to make the leader of the KP aware of the necessity of analysing and revising the law for local councils and setting up a committee to deal with this matter, as requested on 1 March 2011. In this way the councils can have more powers to deal with local issues”.
