The unknown soldier of Kurdistan

Poem by Abdullah Pasheew:

Abdulla Pasheew

Abdullah Pasheew

Translation from Arabic by Freeyad Ibrahim

When a delegation goes…
to a certain place…
He places a wreath of flowers…
On the monument of the unknown soldier…
If a certain delegation would visit my homeland…
And would ask me…
Where is the Tomb of your Unknown Soldier…!?

I`d say unto him…
My sir…
Put your rosy wreath…
On the bank of any creek..
And on the threshold of any mosque..
At the door of any house…
And any church….
Inside any cave…
And on the rock of any mountain…
And on the tree of any garden you wish…
In Kurdistan….
On any span of its soil…
And under any spot of its sky…
Be not afraid…
Bow your head with awe and reverence…..
Then put your wreath of flowers…

Mentioning ‘ soldier, homeland, and patriotism’ in Abdullah Pasheew poem reminds us all of the ultimate sacrifices ” Kurdistan Peshmarga Forces” made and continue to make.

We hope S.Kurdistan will soon have a united, independent armed national force!

In their honor, KIM suggests that KRG builds a new electronic website or issue a special publication named ” Peshmarga” to revive their acts of heroism and bravery as well as provide free information and news to public.
