KT News and Comment:
A meeting of the PUK’s (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) Central Council in Erbil today potentially put it on a collision course with the KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) and President Barzani – in the run up to presidential and parliamentary elections – and aligned the party closer to the opposition.
In a statement, following the meeting, the PUK referred to the issue of Barzani standing for re-election and argued that the presidential elections must comply with existing laws and regulations.
This is being interpreted to mean that the PUK backs the opposition’s call for Barzani to stand down because the law limits presidents to two terms.
The PUK also supported another opposition demand by stating that the constitution must be brought back to parliament for discussion and revision.

It’s just a display of power and muscles by a group that has none of the above left. Let September get here and see who PUK will be advocating for.
This is just a genuine wishfull thinking from Gorran!
