KRG and Iraq government hold talks in Baghdad

KT News:

Amid high tension over the disputed territories, officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Peshmerga ministry and the Iraq defence ministry held talks today in Baghdad.  Both sides have issued a joint statement saying they have agreed to cooperate in seeking a solution to the dispute. The talks are due to continue tomorrow.

Meanwhile KRG prime minister Nechirvan Barzani has made a call on Kurdish TV for US troops to be sent to Kirkuk and the other disputed territories to help end the current stand-off between Kurdish and Iraqi forces.
