News from The Kurdistan Tribune:

The Gorran Party boycotted the meeting held in Erbil today (Sunday) for all parties in the Kurdistan Parliament. Gorran boycotted the meeting – called by President Masud Barzani – on the grounds that it is not a party to the ‘Erbil agreement’.

Gorran Party spokesman Dr Shaho Saeed told local news agencies that: “Gorran will not participate in the meeting held in Erbil between Masud Barzani and other political parties because Gorran is not a part of that coalition between political parties”. The matter was discussed on KNN, Gorran’s TV station, where it was explained that the Erbil agreement had not been discussed in parliament and Gorran could not sign up to something when it did not know the details.

Observers have reacted cautiously to Gorran’s decision last week to refuse the KRG’s request for it to join other Kurdish parties in sending representatives to Baghdad to talk to the Maliki government about issues disputed by the Iraqi and Kurdish administrations.
