KT News:
30 people were killed and about 50 were injured at a Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) election rally in Khanaqin today when a suicide bomber blew himself up among a crowd that had gathered to watch televised footage of PUK leader Jalal Talabani casting his vote in Germany, where he has been in hospital since December 2012, following a stroke.
“The attacker snuck among the crowds near the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s headquarters and blew himself up, causing a tragic massacre,” a distraught police officer, who had lost his brother in the blast, told Reuters.
This atrocity was the worst of several terror attacks staged today in Iraq ahead of Wednesday’s parliamentary elections.
